Tomorrow, I'm picking up a rotary (umbrella) clothesline from a wonderful woman who offered hers up for free on Craigslist. I've been looking for a clothesline for ages, but haven't run across one for the right price. Free is certainly the right price. I just couldn't let it slip by.
So, after I bring it home and we get it cemented into the backyard (which may take a while - we live our lives very slowly, just coasting along, for the most part), the electricity bill will shrink, the laundry will smell fresh, and the whites will all be sun-bleached. Ah, it's the little things in life that really make me smile.
I can't wait!

It is the little things! I was thrilled when we started drying our clothes outside last year in the sunshine and breeze. It is such a relaxing thing to pin clothes to the line outside in the fresh air with kids playing and laughing in the background.
Our dryer broke last year as well and we didn't do anything about it, and so now line dry in the laundry room in the cold weather. It works fine and we're not so delicate to not be able to withstand stiff towels.
Enjoy your line!
